Knowing how much to tip at a bar & pub in Asia can save you from an awkward moment at the end of your visit. The short answer is 0–5 per cent, but the real answer depends on the quality of service, local customs, and whether a service charge is already included.

Bars in Japan, South Korea, and China do not expect tips. In Southeast Asia, rounding up is a nice gesture at upscale cocktail bars. In tourist areas across Thailand or Bali, a small tip may be left but is not required.
